  • 2 Tbsp of ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp of sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 tsp of white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 2 lbs of ground chuck
  • 4 burger buns
  • pickles
  • 1 cup of shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 4-8 slices of tomato
  • pepper
  • 8 slices of American cheese

  1. Heat oil in pan and add onions
  2. Cook onions covered, over medium heat for 30 minutes or until onions begin to golden brown and caramelize. (If you don't like caramelized onions, you can later sear the raw onion with the buns to give it a nice flavor.)
  3. In a bowl, mix together the mayo, ketchup, relish and vinegar in a bowl and then put away for now
  4. Then get the meat, and form into 8 patties. You want them to be 1/2 inch thick
  5. Heat pan and lightly brush vegetable oil
  6. Toast the bun on the griddle, split side down
  7. Wait till they turn golden brown then, spread 1 Tbsp of the mixture on them. Top with lettuce & tomato
  8.  Salt and pepper both sides of the patty and cook for 3-5 minutes
  9.  Put cheese on and leave on till it has melted to your desire
  10. Add the burger to bun and top with the onions
  11. Enjoy!!
